If you haven't seen Hetalia yet, then it's about time you do...
In hetalia all the countries are represented as single characters... it's fun X3 But there was no Netherlands so far...

So I just wanted to try and see if I could make Netherlands as he/she would appear on Hetalia. I'm mentioning "he/she" because I was originally planning to make both a male and female version... Because there aren't too many female characters in Hetalia... and the Netherlands has had only queens for some time now... the last king is quite some generations ago...
Because of this, it's my opinion that England should have been female as well, but he's also male...

anyway, the reason for me to end up with just the male character is because as soon as I wanted to start the female one, I realized that I had no idea on how to make a Netherlands as a woman... oO the male version turned out to be quite easy... perhaps that's why there are so many males in Hetalia...

Anyway... now to explain his looks...
In Hetalia, character's have slight cultural aspects... and they all wear army clothing of their most famous forces... (America wears the old bomberjack; england, germany and china all wear old trooper uniforms of their country, and Japan seems to wear some sort of navy suit...)

So I gave Netherlands here a marine's outfit... Marine soldiers wear these on ships if they're high in rank, and often durning parades and such they appear in these suits... But I left out the hat X3

The briefcase is a different story... we're kind of a buisness country... we know ourselfs as straight to the point, and looking for the good deals... X3 Belgiums have a different look on that... They say we're greedy, we say they're dumb... X3 (There are jokes here for dumb belgiums, and jokes there for greedy dutch folk)

And finally... the unshaven chin and the long hair is because we've always had a big history in art... (who hasn't heard of Rembrandt and van Gogh? )
